Course Request Tallies

The Course Request Tallies display the number of students requesting each course in total, by gender and by grade.

Use the Course Request Tallies to determine how many sections of each course to offer and to identify courses which should not be offered due to insufficient demand. The gender and grade subtotals allow you to detect certain types of course request errors; e.g. a female student requesting a male PE class or a grade 9 student requesting a grade 12 English course. You can also use these reports to identify courses which have been removed from the course file but still have students requesting them.

The Course Request Tally by Number of Requests, displaying courses sorted by number of requests (total enrollment) is displayed when this group of reports is started. From this window, you can navigate forward and backward through the course entries or switch to a different sort order.

How to Read the Course Request Tallies

Each Course Request Tally report is displayed on one or more pages. Use the Next and Prev buttons to move through the pages. The Start button takes you to the first page, the End button takes you to the last page. On each page use the scroll bar, arrow keys, Edit-Find command and other navigational mechanisms provided by the browser to move through the currently displayed page. The report heading remains fixed over the data rows.

Each report option displays a Course Request Tally in a different sort order; the data row for each course contains the same data elements in all sort orders. The following data elements are displayed:
