Master Schedule Lists

The Master Schedule Lists are views of the master schedule in list format, each in a different user-selectable order. Each list shows the meeting times, teacher, room and number of students assigned to each course section in the master schedule. Lists that are sorted by course also show the number of student requests and number of those requests not scheduled for each course. Use these lists to analyze the effectiveness of class loading by course, teacher, room or period. Use the selection options to analyze all terms together or separately.

The Master Schedule list, listing the master schedule by course, is the first report displayed when this group of reports is started.

Sample Reports

Master Schedule

The master schedule lists display one row per term-period combination for each course-section in the master schedule showing course and section schedule information as well as total student requests and total unscheduled requests for each course.

Teacher Name Schedules by Term

The teacher schedules list one row per period for each class taught by each teacher in the master schedule, grouped by term.

Room Schedules ("Only Schedules with Duplicates" Option)

The room schedules list one row per term-period for each class for each class meeting in each room in the master schedule, grouped by term. The sample illustrates the option to flag schedules with duplicate meetings.

How to Read the Master Schedule Lists

Each Master Schedule List is displayed on one or more pages. Use the Next and Prev buttons to move through the pages. The Start button takes you to the first page, the End button takes you to the last page. On each page use the scroll bar, arrow keys, Edit-Find command and other navigational mechanisms provided by the browser to move through the currently displayed page.

Data Elements

The data elements representing a master schedule record appear in every row of each report. Repeated fields in a data group are suppressed for readability. Each data element has the same column heading in each master schedule report in which it appears. Reports are viewed by scrolling through the data rows; the report heading remains fixed over the data rows. Both the report columns and the report data rows appear in different orders depending on the report. A title identifying the report currently displayed appears before the report heading row.

Displaying Only Schedules with Duplicate Assignments

For master schedule (course), teacher and room options of the Master Schedule Lists a checkbox on the screen allows you to limit the report to only schedules which include two meetings at the same time and flag the possible duplicate meetings with a message reading “Dup mtg”. The placement of two or more classes at the same time in a course, teacher or room schedule is usually intentional, but use of this option can sometimes highlight opportunities to reduce student conflicts by moving sections which overlap other sections of the same course or to identify inadvertently defined teacher and room conflicts in the master schedule.

  • Check the "Only schedules with dups" box, then click the Start button and you will see only the schedules which include duplicate meetings in the currently displayed Master Schedule List.
  • To see all schedules in the current Master Schedule List once again, uncheck the box and click the Start button.

Note: The "Only schedules with dups" checkbox has no effect if one of the "Period Schedule" options is selected.
