The Unscheduled Period Summaries display the number of students with no class assigned for each term, period and day in a grid, or matrix, format. The grids show one row per period for each term and grade category combination with unscheduled period entries placed in columns by day. Each unscheduled period entry displayed in the grid shows the number of male, number of female and total number of students within the grade category whose schedule includes no class meeting in the given term, period and day.
Use the summaries to analyze the balance of seats in classes offered each period for each grade and overall. Periods with large numbers of unscheduled students may need one or more additional class offerings to accommodate all students; periods with small numbers of unscheduled students may have lightly loaded classes which could be moved to the periods which don't have enough seats offered. This report can also highlight classes which have mistakenly been scheduled at restricted times; for example if no class should ever meet in period 8, all students should show as unscheduled in that period.
The Unscheduled Periods for Combined Grades by Term, displaying unscheduled totals for all grades combined is the first report displayed when this group of reports is started.

The reports menu appears near the top of the window. When you first open the Unscheduled Period Summaries, the menu box displays "--Select Summary--" and Unscheduled Periods for Combined Grades by Term is displayed as the current report.
